Serving the Homeless in the Raleigh-Durham Area

Seen Heard & Known Services

Feeding the Hungry

We are dedicated to providing hot meals for people who are experiencing homelessness. Our meal service allows the housed and unhoused to walk hand in hand through sharing meals and meaningful fellowship. Through our potluck approach, the housed community has the opportunity to serve others by providing delicious foods that warms the body and heart of those who are challenged with being homeless.

Providing Clothing

Clothing is not only a basic human need but affects how people are often treated. Most assessments are made within the first seven seconds in determining traits such as trustworthiness and perceived competence.  By offering weather-appropriate clothing to Raleigh's unhoused community,  we help provide a practical and social need, where clothing recipients feel confident, valued, and seen.

Offering Hope

People who are experiencing homelessness are also battling hopelessness.  Through our monthly gatherings, the housed community is available to lend their ears and heart to listen and create space for hope to arise. Seen Heard & Known volunteers are available for prayer, biblical counseling, and offer messages of hope as they connect with those who feel unseen, unheard, and unknown.

Gifts & Surprises

Seen Heard & Known is proud to bring the unhoused and housed community together for social engagement and recreation. Laughter is medicine for the soul and people can forget their economic status and cultural differences. During our connection events, the housed and those experiencing homelessness play games and winners receive gift cards to make purchases of needed items. These gifts offer a sense of autonomy and can build confidence and inclusiveness.
